What is Books By Mail?
Books by Mail is a free service provided by the Elyria Public Library System for residents of the Elyria and Keystone School Districts. Books by Mail provides qualified users with access to the Elyria Public Library System materials via the US Postal Service postage free. Materials are mailed in large blue zippered canvas bags. Inside the bags are the materials selected by the professional staff, or requested by you. A pre-addressed postage paid card is also enclosed in the bag for you to use when returning the materials in the blue canvas bag via the regular mail. Lost bags must be replaced at a cost of $20. Materials returned late will also incur the usual library fines. Materials will be checked out on your Elyria Public Library System card. About 6 books can be mailed to you monthly. You will have three (3) weeks to read the materials. At the end of the 3 weeks, you must return the materials in the blue canvas bag via regular mail. For your convenience, you don’t have to be home to receive the canvas bags, as they can be left either on your front door step or in your mailbox, if the bag will fit.
