Brr - it's getting cold out, and we are all preparing for the holidays! Want a fun, free event for the whole family! Come to the Elyria Public Library System's West River branch Friday, Saturday, or Sunday during the weekends of December 2nd, 9th, or 16th to check out our Festival of Trains and Trees. We will have an awesome train and beautifully decorated themed trees, including a Harry Potter Tree, and Children's Tree, and a tree decorated by the library's crafting group! If that's not enough on Saturday December 3rd at 2:00 p.m. the Children's Room will have a Frosty the Snowman sing-a-long. On Saturday December 10th from noon to 2:00 p.m. children can stop in to participate in an elf workshop, and on Saturday December 17th at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Claus will be here to tell holiday stories. We hope you stop in to see us during this most wonderful time of the year.

Tours, storytimes, and group visits may be scheduled for school classes, scout groups, day cares, and parent groups. To schedule a visit, please call EPLS staff at least three weeks in advance.

Early Literacy

Our children's rooms are full of wonderous adventures waiting to be explored by your little ones. We want to help build the skills your child needs to be ready for school by working with them to develop early literacy and learning skills, such as talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Homework Help

Stop in for a quiet area and large tables to get your homework completed. Use our online research tools.

Cards & Computers

The children's Room computers are just for kids! You'll need a student ID or library card to sign on. Don't have a library card? We have a Children's 3 for ME card for kids under 12.
