2 UPCOMING CLOSINGS DEAR FRIENDS, Memorial Day May 27 Independence Day July 4 All of us at EPL are so excited to kick off another fun and fantastic summer reading program! This year’s theme Adventure Begins at your Library invites kids, teens, and adults to participate in a community-wide reading challenge that incentivizes reading in any format. The more you read, the more entries you get toward winning prizes, and kids earn milestone prizes along the way too. We hope you’ll make library visits part of your summer fun! We are also thrilled to be unveiling a new space, Connect Commons, an intergenerational social space at the Central Library for people to build with a variety of LEGO® pieces and get creative together. We will host a series of weekly programs called Adventurers Assemble! for kids 6-12 featuring creative problem-solving challenges and new artistic design techniques using LEGO® pieces. The concept was dreamed up by our inventive and creative team and is funded by a LSTA grant from the State Library of Ohio. I would also like to put in a plug for the Library of Things, and share this great web resource with pictures of all the items you can borrow. Did you know you can check out a Roku, a soldering kit, a car diagnostic scanner, a balloon arch kit, happy birthday yard signs, sewing machines and more? Visit the EPL website or scan the QR Code to take a look at the catalog! Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and we hope to see you soon! Warmly, Jen Starkey PROGRAM REGISTRATION EPL opens program registration at various times according to age group. Adult Programs: Registration opens simulatenously on May 3. Kid, Family Programs: Registration opens four weeks prior to program date.
