Our staff will assist in setting up resume templates for you and offer suggestions on searching for jobs on the internet. We also have local resources and a posting section for available jobs in the area. Stop in to get connected to the right resources for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What programs are available on these computers? | The computers offer Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher. Internet access using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. 

How do I get started? | You will need to know the basics of using a mouse and the Internet. You will also need a valid email address. We can help you open an email account if you don't have one. You will also need an idea of what you kind of job you want to apply for.

How do these computers differ from the other Internet computers? | These computers are dedicated solely to career work. Therefore, no use of social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, etc.) is permitted. While Adult Services staff cannot walk you through the process step-by-step, the staff is  available to help with any problems that may arise.

Is there a time limit for use? | There is a two-hour renewable time limit. Computers outside the Career Center have a 30-minute time limit.

What are the hours of operation? | The Career Center operates under the same hours as the West River location. 

How do I sign in to a Career Center computer? | You will need to reserve a computer at the Reference Desk. You will need to bring your CLEVNET Library card or a photo ID.

Can I print? | Yes. It is $0.10 a page for black and white and $0.50 a page for color prints.

Can I use a USB/flash drive? | Yes, our computers support most storage devices.

My resume is saved on a CD. Can I access my resume from the CD? | You can open the resume and work on it from our computers, but our computers do not have the ability to burn the updated resume to your CD. We recommend saving it to a flash drive or emailing it to yourself.

Can I bring a friend to help me? | Yes, you can. However, we do ask that you keep your communication professional and quiet as to not disturb others around you.

Can I use my cellphone in the Career Center? | Yes, we ask that you keep your voice down and limit any calls so as not to disturb other people working on the computers.
