Buckeye Card

Buckeye card The Ohio Department of Aging's Golden Buckeye program connects Ohio businesses with older adults and people with disabilities. The businesses offer cardholders special savings, such as discounts, waived fees, free products or services, and more. Fill out an application at the Library today!

 

If you have a current Ohio Driver License or State ID card, you should automatically receive your Golden Buckeye card. Look for it during the month before your 60th birthday. 

If you do not have a current license or State ID or you don’t receive your card automatically, you can apply for a Golden Buckeye card at the Library. You will need a birth certificate or legal documents displaying date of birth. 

For 59 and younger AND disabled, you'll need to bring with you: Ohio's Drivers License or State Id or birth certificate or legal document displaying date of birth and ONE of the following 

  • A Medicare (not Medicaid) card in your name; 
  • SSI or SSDI acceptance documentation; or 
  • A copy of a document certifying permanent and total disability issued by any state department, Ohio public employee retirement system (STRS, PERS, etc), or any federal retirement system. 

We are unable to accept any other form of proof of disability, such as a letter from your doctor. 

You can call 1-866-301-6446 to request a replacement Golden Buckeye card if: 

  • Your Golden Buckeye card has been lost, stolen, or damaged 
  • Your name has changed or the name on your card is wrong 

Note: If you need to apply for a Golden Buckeye Card during the COVID-19 pandemic and your local senior center and public library are closed, please call Ohio's Department of Aging's Buckeye Card Customer Service at 1-800-422-1976 and press option 4 to speak with a representative.
